About our topic: Through macro photographs and stories from the field, this talk explores the way insects and plants shape one another’s lives, covering pollination, predation and the often subtle interplay of their lifecycles.
About our speaker: Mika Geiger (www.mikageiger.com) is a macro photographer based in Austin, Texas, whose work focuses on the often-overlooked lives of insects. Through close-up images and quiet moments in the field, she invites people to slow down and see these tiny creatures with curiosity and amazement. Mika is a Texas Master Naturalist and volunteers with projects such as native bee monitoring and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center fauna survey. Mika’s photography spotlights the vital roles insects play in our ecosystems.
