What??? No way!!!  Yes, it sounds too good to be true, but Evergreen Sumac, Rhus virens, ticks all those boxes.  Where do you find it?  It is available right now through Friday at noon at our online plant sale.  Link to the store here: https://shop.npsotwilco.org/  See pictures and get more details on our database, WilcoScape.org.  If you miss the online sale, we should have some at the in-person sale October 3rd.

Evergreen Sumac is one of those Central Texas natives that does not want to be drenched with water every day, so it is not inclined to live in a black plastic pot like plants you find at big box stores.   It can be tricky to propagate, so you rarely see it anywhere for sale.  That’s why we want to let you know we have a big crop of fine looking specimens, most of which are 30-40 inches tall above the pot.  We want them to go out into the landscape and create important spaces in the landscape in our region.

See details about the online and in-person sales here => Fall 2026 Native Plant Sale
