FIELD TRIP: Today, Sept. 28, 9:00am-12noon Wolf Ranch, Georgetown

Natives in the Commercial Landscape, Wolf Ranch, Georgetown. “Park and Start” at Just Love Coffee located next door to Michael’s… come inside, we will be getting coffee! Join us as we walk the center to see established, full-size native and adapted plants in the landscape. This center received an award from our chapter for its native grasses walking trail and their dedication to the installation and maintenance of natives. (Let’s see how it looks ten years later!)

FIELD TRIP: Newcomer’s Walk – SUMMER! Berry Springs @ 8:30am, Sunday, June 30, 2019

Berry Springs Park and Preserve, 1801 Co Rd 152, Georgetown, TX 78626, 8:30am – 10:00am.  Park and Start at the restroom at the top of the hill past the donkeys. Join us for an introduction on how to identify native plants in their natural habitat. We plan to conduct this walk in all four seasons of 2019 to give you practice identifying native plants during their annual growth cycle of winter, spring, summer and fall. Field guides and cameras are encouraged! Be prepared for walking on roughly mulched but level, open terrain. Wear sturdy clothes appropriate for the weather, closed toe shoes, and bring water and snacks as needed. Please plan on arriving a little early to sign a state NPSOT waiver. No reservation is required, but you may contact Gary Bowers (info removed) if you have any questions.

FIELD TRIP Announcement: Pollinator Gardens, Sat April 27 @ 9am-12noon

Pollinator Garden Workday

Visit two Native Plant gardens that were planned with pollinators in mind!  Park & Start at San Gabriel Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1322 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626.  Next stop is the Williamson County Landfill Pollinator Garden, 600 Co Rd 128, Hutto, TX 78634. Optional dutch lunch in Hutto afterwards.  See you there!
