Calling all Wacky Weeders! Join us at Peterson Community Garden in Hutto on Saturday, August 24, to give our friends there a hand. With all the rain, the garden has grown wild. Bring gloves, a hat, tools and lots of water. If you have a string trimmer, that will help.
Join NPSOT-Williamson County on Thursday, August 8, 2024, when our featured topic will be “The Native Aquatic Plants of Texas” with Casey Williams.
Free and open to the public. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM. Our guest speaker’s presentation begins after a short business meeting and will be recorded for our YouTube channel.
==> This month, we meet at the Georgetown Parks & Rec Administration Building, 1101 N College St, Georgetown, Texas 78626. Come early (6:30 PM) for expert advice, to check out the seed swap board, or just to visit.
At every meeting, we give away a book — about native plants or the meeting topic — to one randomly chosen in-person attendee!
Have an idea for a speaker? Let Program Leader Susie Hickman know via email to [email protected].
NPSOT-Williamson County meetings are free and open to the public. We hope you attend! Meetings may be in person, virtual, or both, so be sure to check details in the meeting announcement. President Nancy Copperman announced the officers who will hold elected positions for 2024-2025 and also presented NPSOT pins to folks celebrating milestone years of membership in the Society. If you reached a milestone year and were not able to attend the meeting, your pin will be delivered to you another way. (The meeting’s business slides are here.)
The evening ended with a presentation by Randy Pensabene and Gary Bowers about a new chapter project — the Williamson County native plant database! See the meeting’s YouTube video to learn more. (The project discussion starts at 21:34 minutes in.)
