April’s field trip heads to Phil Hardberger Park in San Antonio on Saturday, April 29, from 10am to 12pm. Arrive at 9:45am so we can start the tour at 10:00 sharp. We’ll meet at the Salado Outdoor Classroom building at 13203 Blanco Rd, San Antonio TX, 78216.

We will have a brief orientation followed by a guided hike provided by David Jimenez, Education Coordinator for the park. The guided hike is along a flat terrain trail and will include the Robert L. B. Tobin Land Bridge over Wurzbach Parkway! This amazing park has so much to offer that you may want to stay after the guided hike to explore further on your own. Click on the park’s map here.

Carpooling is highly encouraged as parking is limited. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather, especially comfortable walking shoes. Be prepared for sun by wearing sunscreen and a hat.

This field trip is open to anyone that wants to go — family, friends, and the general public. You do not need to be a NPSOT member.

Please RSVP at this link so we have a head count. Please RSVP by April 27.

If you have a question before you RSVP, let us know by email or contact form. See Contact Us.

Announcing NPSOT-Williamson County’s new website

This post was published on our previous site on April 2, 2023 to announce our new website, the site you are on now.

News from our old site:

Today, NPSOT-Williamson County is announcing our move to a new website with a new url address.

=> We’re moving to https://npsotwilco.org

On the new website, you’ll find familiar reference content from the old website like speaker topics, field trip info, plant lists and more.  Please visit our new website to bookmark and start using it instead of the current old site (the site you are on now, https://npsot.org/wp/wilco).

Many posts published on the old website contain useful reference information. Posts from 2023 have already been republished on the new site. Posts from 2022 and earlier years are being ported from the old site to the new site over the coming weeks.  The old site will remain accessible to you until it is taken entirely offline next month, in May.

If you are a blog subscriber, please see the Get News page (on the new website) to opt-into receiving blog emails from our new address.  So that you don’t miss any news, for the next few weeks we’ll publish blog posts on both the old website and the new website.  We apologize for any inconvenience during the transition.

If you have any questions, please Contact Us.
