Chapter Meeting: “Under the Lens: Insects, Plants, and their Captivating Shared World” with Mika Geiger @ GT Public Library

February 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

[Updated 1/28, title & topic details. Will be recorded]

Join NPSOT-Williamson County on Thursday, February 12, 2026, when our featured topic will be Under the Lens: Insects, Plants, and their Captivating Shared World with Mika Geiger. Free and open to the public. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM.  The guest presentation begins after a short business meeting.

About our topic: Through macro photographs and stories from the field, this talk explores the way insects and plants shape one another’s lives, covering pollination, predation and the often subtle interplay of their lifecycles.

About our speaker:  Mika Geiger is a macro photographer based in Austin, Texas, whose work focuses on the often-overlooked lives of insects. Through close-up images and quiet moments in the field, she invites people to slow down and see these tiny creatures with curiosity and amazement. Mika is a Texas Master Naturalist and volunteers with projects such as native bee monitoring and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center fauna survey. Mika’s photography spotlights the vital roles insects play in our ecosystems.
