About our speaker: Ashley Morgan-Olvera, M.S. is the Director of Research and Education for Texasinvasives.org, headquartered at the Texas Invasive Species Institute (TISI) at Sam Houston State University (SHSU). She received her M.S. in Parasitology before starting as an Invasive Species Biologist for TISI. Throughout the past 12 years she has worked extensively with federal, state and local groups setting up invasive insect, mollusk, and plant pathogen surveys, along with participating in Clean Rivers surveys for the Huntsville and Houston areas. She promotes the educational and reporting objectives of TISI and Texasinvasives.org by providing training and management workshops to motivate others into action against invasive plants and pests.
